Opening bracelet in gilt metal and green enamel representing a snake. The snake’s head is covered with crystals with ruby-like stones for the animal’s eyes.

Kenneth Jay Lane worked in the artistic department of VOGUE under the direction of Diana Vreeland (great editor-in-chief of the American magazine).
He has also designed costume and couture jewelry for Christian Dior.

He created his own brand of costume jewelry in 1963 and the success was immediate.
Famous clients of Kenneth Jay Lane include Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Princess Diana.

Remarks on the condition of the bracelet :

Excellent condition, no flaws to report (outside of the jewel).
Slight traces of oxidation on the metal inside the bracelet.

It is recalled that enamel is a fragile material which can break or crack if it falls to the ground.

You should always use perfume on bare skin, before dressing up and putting on your jewelry. The jewels do not tolerate the perfume which damages them. You should never wear your jewelry at the beach, because of the sea salt which is corrosive. You should never sleep with your jewelry on, and you shouldn't wash yourself with it either.
