Vintage Chanel necklace, 24K gold-plated metal, double-sided medallion, lion coat of arms (circa 1985-1990)
Vintage Chanel necklace, in solid gold metal (24K gold-plated), as were all Chanel couture jewelry from this era.
The medallion features lions (Gabrielle Chanel’s astrological sign), the double C (Coco Chanel’s initials) and a diamond which recalls the quilted leather of the bags.
The first side of the medallion features a coat of arms with lion heads and a crown.
The second side presents another coat of arms including a diamond and a crown.
On each side, CHANEL is engraved in the metal.
